Our Programs

A few years ago, when my family and I were visiting back home in India, we went to a local government high school. It was during the summertime and there were no students, so we were able to get a nice tour and look around. I was looking around the many classrooms and closets, and was astounded to see only academic textbooks. I wondered to myself how any child could imagine and learn without novels and creative literature.

In the US, libraries are found in every city and school. I used to take this for granted. When going to the library every single day to explore new worlds and meet new characters, I never thought that fellow students around the world weren't getting these opportunities. I still wonder to this day how kids are able to stay in school without the creative freedom of "fun" reading.

So, I made it a personal mission to spread my love of reading to the world. After running book clubs and tennis camps for a little bit, I was able to gather enough donations to build my first library. With the help of my advisors and local schoolteachers, we got the library built, and students spend hours, exploring a whole new side of education.
